May 11th 201223:09
These handful of illustrations originate from a collection of nine short horror stories by different authors devoted to a variety of monsters published in 1976. Scans were provided by The Haunted Closet. The blog previously posted stories and artwork from the rare book across the following posts, scroll below the dinosaur artworks.
Jordu started his career in creature effects by working on films like Predator 2, Bride Of The Re-Animator, The Guyver, Puppetmaster 2 and continues to contribute his amazing talent in recent films like Avatar, The Mist, Hellboy and many others. He is without question one of the greatest monster makers of our age. It is a lot of fun to see, in nightmarish detail, all the realistic ways he's created monsters, aliens, killer robots, zombies and everything else from his imagination. See more at the Schell Sculpture Studio website.
Jordu Schell was recently featured on the four part mini series "Making Monsters" that includes Schell sculpting various abominations, read about the show at Scifimafia.com

I've lost track of where I found the majority of these German horror comic covers but I recently dug up a handful thanks to Micky The Pixel. There were apparently 1657 original issues made in this series, many more of these covers can be seen at Comic Vine.
If anyone knows of more high resolution scans of these covers that haven't been shared here, please let me know where I can find them, thanks!
T Is For Toilet is an animated short by Lee Hardcastle that will be featured alongside 25 other short films in an upcoming anthology titled "The ABC's Of Death". Below are a few of his Chainsaw Maiden zombie features, lots of gore and crazy dead things.
Stage Designs For The Golden Apple, 1667

A variation of the Underworld scene can be seen below.
The designer of the opera was Ludovico Ottavio Burnacini, the prints were engraved by Mathäus Küsel.
"Il pomo d'oro (The Golden Apple) was performed for the wedding of Emperor Leopold I. It was far more elaborate than contemporary Venetian operas, including a large orchestra, numerous choruses, and various mechanical devices used to stage things like gods descending from heaven (deus ex machina), naval battles, and storms. Orontea was revived seventeen times in the next thirty years, making it one of the most frequently performed operas on the continent in the mid-17th century." - quote source
